Why PSwrx?
We know that real estate is the second highest expense that charter schools face, after payroll. We also know that managing real estate and finance requires the same level of specialized expertise that schools expect in the classroom.
We take the stress out of buildings and budgets.
What Is PSwrx?
PSwrx is the only charter school partner with a full-service team of real estate, finance, and facilities management experts. We’re a nonprofit who works with schools to envision, fund, build, and sustain environments where learning thrives—so leaders can stay focused on what matters most: students. We turn technical functions like real estate and finance into strategic levers for schools—not burdens to manage, but tools for growth, sustainability, and generational student impact.
Why Now?
Over the past twenty years, PSwrx team members have delivered more than 200 projects on-time and on-or-under budget across nearly $3 billion of investment. We have observed firsthand the tremendous difference this can make in the neighborhoods we serve - yet two fundamental problems persist:
The economics of developing and maintaining school buildings at small scale are inefficient - which means fewer dollars to student-facing programming and more dollars to maintenance, markets, and investors.
While significant investments are being made in the neighborhoods we serve, the economic benefits of those investments rarely reach community members themselves.
Why Not Just Work Within the System?
After two decades of working in this space, we refuse to keep doing the same thing while expecting different results. (This is, after all, Einstein's definition of insanity.)
The charter school real estate system doesn't need patching—it needs reimagining.
